Monsoons have arrived!

Streams come alive in the monsoons

The monsoons have hit Kerala, and moving upwards in their usual place, now touching Karnataka. This is a season every one us look forward, to see the hot days end, to see the green and beautiful earth all around us and enjoy the fresh breeze after the rains. For me arrival of the monsoons means the end of tourist season which means that there is no need to worry about crowds everywhere; it is time to travel!

Although I keep hoping to travel more in the monsoons every year, I never do as much as I wish to. Monsoons are indeed a great time to be with, and feel the beauty of nature. For those living around Bangalore, below is a list trip reports during the monsoons, and other monsoon related content on India Travel Blog.

Coming Month, Where Are You Travelling To?

I just thought I will ask my readers what are their travel plans for the month at the beginning of each month. It could help us exchange notes, think of feasible places to go to in the season, share our plans or dreams or even just build a conversation. As for me, I am planning to a short photo-trip somewhere near Bangalore, most likely in the Kaveri valley, and a day of camping in the western ghats. That is not much really. If there is someone who can come along on a weekday, I am also planning to make a 2 day trip(that is, 3 days and 2 nights) to Kabini River Lodge. Any one interested? I am looking for some time in first two weeks of May.

And don’t forget to leave your comments about your travel plans for the month. Let’s all know about some good ideas and places to go to.

I am also contemplating on buying some camping gear. If you have any inputs on what to buy and where to buy in Bangalore, do let me know.
