I gave up on photographing birds and wildlife a few years ago and got rid of my 400mm lens which was used for the purpose. I hadn’t attempted in aiming the camera towards birds ever since. But last week, I spotted this line of Black Winged Stilts that made a charming line-up. They did not appear jittery about people walking at a safe distance. It was early morning and the sunlight was falling directly on them. Here is the resulting image.

I hope you are enjoying the year-end holidays. I just came back from a very enjoyable and fruitful photography tour, which I was leading through the cultural centers of a colourful Rajasthan. Here is one of the images from the trip, of sunrise at Gadisar Lake, Jaisalmer.

I am in Jaipur right now, preparing for a journey across Rajasthan leading a photography tour for the next nine days. Here is a photograph from last year, made at Sam Sand Dunes in Jaisalmer, where we will be spending an evening during the trip.
