Photo of the Day – Caretaker Monk – Bhutan
At the monasteries across Bhutan, there is usually a monk assigned on rotation to take care of the temple and let the visitors in. Here is one such monk at a temple in Punakha.

I was in the mountain kingdom of Bhutan, leading a group of photography enthusiasts for Darter Photography. Throughout the tour, it was a delight to see maroon robed monks everywhere – in the streets, shops, monasteries, temples and administrative centers. Here is an image of monks engaged in a conversation, photographed in Thimphu.
