Times of India steals again
They are good at it, aren’t they?
Somehow Indian media thinks copyrights are meant to be made fun of. flickr user zedaxis22 finds his images on Times of India, stolen. This is not their first time, they seem to have made a habit of it. Only a few months ago, they stole a picture from Shrinidhi and had to subsequently apologize and pay up. I guess they think it is worth trying again. But this time, they have built more thick skin around them – zedaxis22 contacted ToI, and they simply refused to compensate.
Mainstream media in India has made a habit of not respecting copyrights and happily steal things at will. Blogbharti and desipundit have long lists of posts on images stolen from bloggers (just one such post here). NDTV had stolen one of my images once, and subsequently apologized. When will they stop? What do we need to do to make stealing a really expensive affair for culprits, I wonder.
