All the photo-essays published so far on India Travel Blog can now be accessed using one link. They number forty at the moment. In future, I intend to increase the frequency with which I post photo-stories on the blog.
Techgoss, a tech news portal, has a rather long interview of me. It is so long and comprehensive, I should copy most of it and use it for my ‘about’ page!
TG: For someone coming from a tech background, to delve into writing, how was the acceptance by editors of various magazines? How did you face rejections (if any) and how did you grapple with that? AB: No one ever asked me about my background; I guess it doesn’t matter much as long as you can weave a good story. The hard part was always to get an editor to listen to you and have them read your story. The next step is not so much hard as the first step; so rejections did happen but [were] few and far apart. As far as I know, few travel writers really face rejections. If you have managed to get an editor to say ‘send me the story,’ it is like a battle nearly won.
After contemplating on creating a facebook page for almost a year, India India Travel Blog is finally on facebook. Apart from being a convenient way to read posts on India Travel Blog, I will use it to make some mobile updates on the move, post photographs and share anything interesting (like links, stuff I bump into in real life and web, etc) on travel and photography. It will also be a place where I will make short posts that are too small to go here. You are more than welcome to post anything related to travel and photography on the wall.
