Six Years of India Travel Blog

india travel blogIndia Travel Blog completes six delightful years today. What started as a means to record my travels has now become much more than that and has perhaps defined much of what I am today. Thank you for your wonderful support all these years, and for having been coming here to read my travel stories and see the images.

It has been a beautiful journey of travelling here with thousands of travellers. Some narcissistic statistics 🙂

The ultimate aim of India Travel Blog remains what I wrote here a year ago: “to consistently produce good quality photographs and travel writing that informs and entertains the readers.”

Once again, thanks for coming here year after year to see photographs and read travel stories. 🙂

Writing Goals

Having just completed a travelogue on my visit to Dharamsala in Novemeber 2010, I sat down to take stock of other places to which I have travelled in the last few years, but haven’t written about them here yet. It appears like a long list and I am hoping to complete writing about all of them in next few months. The number of stories pending are so many and on so many places, even if I write 500 words every day, it will probably last for next six months. Here is the list of places – I am still wondering where to begin and which one should be the next.

Ladakh

I have already written a lot about Ladakh, but an equal amount has remained. Here is a list of stories I have written about Ladakh so far. If you are planning to visit this summer, this could come handy for you. And here is pending list from Ladakh

Kerala

Goa and Devbagh

Madhya Pradesh

Hampi Tour and Other Updates

A flood of travel opportunities have been knocking my doors lately and I have been more happy to open up to them. I am still in the mood of the incredible expedition in Zanskar and am hardly home, mentally. Even as I am lingering in those moments, I am off to Hampi on our second photography tour with a small bunch of photography enthusiasts. Our last trip was a great success and the participants loved our sessions and field trips. I am hoping to improvise further this trip with our experiences from the last tour and explore more on the immense opportunities to photograph architecture, landscapes and wildlife of Hampi. It is one place where I keep finding new things every time I go and have never been disappointed. This is our last tour of Hampi this season, as summer heat becomes unbearable after March. So if Hampi is in your mind for some time now, do make it a point to join us (See details here for signing up).

Some images from the last photography tour of Hampi. See more images here. Also checkout photos by participants of last Hampi tour on our facebook page.

Some more assignment will soon be taking me to Kerala’s famed backwaters (which I am yet to explore properly) and into the heart of malnad (which I am familiar with). I am looking forward to those days of giving some work to my camera and to my eyes!
