I made a quick dash last week to check out the monsoon in the hills of Kodai. The visit was fruitful – the hills were green and it rained on and off. Clouds and sun took turns and through the day, changing the way the landscape looked. Fog swept the valleys as it rained and settled down in the depressions after drenching the slopes. A few pictures below.
Darkening skies announcing the imminent rain.
Sun and shade alternating in the valley.
Clouds descend into the valley.
Lake, valley, hills and the sky.
Its a clear evening after the clouds go away.
Streams come alive in the monsoons
The monsoons have hit Kerala, and moving upwards in their usual place, now touching Karnataka. This is a season every one us look forward, to see the hot days end, to see the green and beautiful earth all around us and enjoy the fresh breeze after the rains. For me arrival of the monsoons means the end of tourist season which means that there is no need to worry about crowds everywhere; it is time to travel!
